Government Affairs
The issues facing the
advertising industry in Congress, regulatory agencies and states
continue to proliferate. For advertising to continue to play a
prominent role in the economy (and our culture), we must be both
knowledgeable and prepared to educate decision makers about the
implications of the issues they address.
On our Web site,
you will find brief summaries of many of these issues. This is our
maiden voyage providing the information in this format, and we look
forward to your comments regarding how to make these papers more
relevant to you. Of course, we welcome input as to what other issues
should be included. It is our intention to update these papers
regularly, as well as to add new ones as required. The issue briefs
are available here.
Additionally, we have redesigned
our weekly newsletter, AAF Government Report. This e-mailed
newsletter provides readers with a roundup of the latest advertising
news from Congress and regulatory bodies, as well as on state and
local issues. As a benefit of membership, we invite all AAF members
interested in advertising issues to subscribe. E-mail Robert
Kohlmeyer, coordinator government affairs, at rkohlmeyer@aaf.org
to start receiving this newsletter.
